Adrian Mendez is a naturalist guide with over 12 years of experience guiding in the cloud forest. Adrian was born and raised in Monteverde and specializes in birding around different areas of Costa Rica. He speaks English and Spanish.
The tour will depend greatly on the interests of the participants and will involve learning about the natural history of Monteverde’s forest, animals; birds of the cloud forest and many other fascinating facets of the tropical ecosystem.
Adrian will bring along his professional gear for birding, including binoculars and spotting scope. Hikes have a minimum duration of 3 hours at an easy pace in the forest on the well-maintained trails of the Preserve.
Hikers should bring: hiking shoes, long pants, repellent, binoculars, poncho or other rain gear.Rates: 15 per person. Maximum 8 people. Special half day tours and visits to other destinations in the Monteverde area are available upon request.
