Paraiso Farm and Waterfall Horseback Ride
Visit a private nature reserve owned by a Tico family with a deep sense of responsibility concerning protection and conservation of the natural resources. While for many years their main activity was cattle, now days it is eco-tourism.
This paradise is located in a small town by the name of Los Nubes, located 8 km northeast of
Santa Elena or 33 Km. northeast from Las Juntas de Abangares. There you can enjoy amazing views of the Guanacaste lowlands, Puntarenas, Tempisque river,
Nicoya gulf, and the Arenal, Tenorio, Miravalles, Rincón de la Vieja and Orosi volcanoes.
Tours start with a car ride from your hotel to the Complejo Paraiso in Los Nubes.
There you will meet your horse and begin your ride of a little under an hour.
Once you reach the trail head, you will leave the horses and hike into the cloud forest.
Depending on the season you may be able to glimpse bellbirds, toucans, motmots and even the resplendent quetzal.
Also inhabiting this forest in abundance are a variety of mammals, reptiles and many insects.
Continuing your hike you'll come across a number of impressive waterfalls.
Here we will take a break for a snack and have a chance to take some photos of the cascades.
Finally, by means of a different trail, you will return to the horses for a short ride to the rural town of Los Olivios, where a minibus will be waiting to return you to the hotel.

include, round trip transportation to and from the hotel, a guided horse back ride, nature hike in the cloud forest and a snack of tropical fruit and water.
Departure times are 8:00 am or 1:00 pm. Cost is $45 per person.
