Walkways: Stroll through the cloud forest canopy on eight suspended bridges (self-guided). Breathtaking views into the rain forest. Located about 4 miles from the town of Santa Elena on the road to the Santa Elena Cloud Forest Preserve.

The Original Canopy Tour - The tour starts with a 15 minutes walk to the first platform. Then you traverse on a cable between 9 platforms suspended in trees, with heights from 40 ft. to 110 ft, wearing professional equipment. In the middle of the tour you rappel down and then climb up a ladder to the next platform. At the end you have to rappel down again. Cost is US$ 45, students US$ 35, children US$ 25. Tours at 7.30 a.m., 10.30 a.m. and 2.30 p.m. Transportation with pick up and drop off at the hotel included, pick up times at the hotel: 7 a.m., 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Refugio de Vida Silvestre Twilight Tour - Starts at 5.30 p.m. The tour starts at twilight and continues into darkness allowing observation of activity in both conditions. US$ 15, children US$ 10. A taxi from the hotel is 1000 Colones. Less known and less crowded.
Horseback riding - Horses for all levels. Please tell us with your reservation on what time you would like the tour and whether you have experience so we can choose the right horse for you. Guided tours of 2 hours US$ 30 per person including Spanish speaking horse guide. Other tours upon request.
Don Juan Coffee Tour - Learn about Monteverde’s Coffee in an unique coffee tour. On the tour you’ll see the whole process, from the farm to your cup. Coffee tours $25 per person or $20 for students.
El Trapiche Tour (The sugar cane mill)- A Costa Rican family run business where you can enjoy a 2 hour guided tour. The tour begins with a walk through a farm where you can learn about plantations that grow sugar cane, coffee and other crops such as bananas, plantains, root vegetables, oranges and more…Tour includes an ox cart ride to the Sugar Mill "Trapiche" where sugar cane is processed. Throughout the tour you will have the opportunity to taste the various products that are made from sugar cane as well as a delicious cup of coffee.
