Transfer to or from La Fortuna [taxi - boat - taxi] The ride taxi-boat-taxi combination: Truly the fastest way to get to or come from La Fortuna in 2 ½ - 3 hours! A taxi will take you down to Lake Arenal where a boat is waiting to take you across the lake. A cab picks you up on the other side to take you to the center or the hotel of your choice. US$ 25 per person, extra US$ 25 if you go to or come from the Observatory Lodge. From Santa Elena to La Fortuna: Pick up at 8.00 a.m. - from La Fortuna to Santa Elena: Pick up at 8.30 a.m. Also available at 2:00 pm from Monteverde or 2:30 pm from La Fortuna. |

Private Transport For our transfers we provide a comfortable mini bus with air conditioning and plenty of space. All vehicles are fully insured. All transportation is door to door. You are free to make stops along the route to see attractions, eat or use restrooms. The pick up time of the transfer can be at any hour. How to get to Monteverde by Public Bus? San Jose The public bus leaves San Jose at 6:30 am and 2:30 pm. The bus stop is called Monteverde-Tilaran. Every taxi driver knows the bus stations. The ride takes an average of 5 hours and costs just under $ 5. The bus makes a 15-minute pit stop just after Sardinal before finishing the winding road up to Monteverde. Keep an eye on your luggage! Puntarenas There are 2 bus routes coming from Puntarenas to Monteverde. One public bus leaves Puntarenas at 2:15 pm and goes via Lagartos. The other departs a little earlier and goes via Las Juntas. |
